HMDP Fellowship in Advanced Periodontics
I was attached to the Periodontology Department at Eastman Dental Centre, New York from June 1993.
My time was spent in periodontal clinics and the laboratory doing basic, pre-clinical animal and human clinical studies. The remainder of the time was spent at special seminars and lectures by invited speakers.
This attachment provided me with a chance to learn the latest techniques in hard and soft guided tissue regeneration and various protocols in cell and molecular biology experiments.
After a 13-month stay in New York, it was time to leave for Boston where I spent 3 months on an Academy of Medicine Fellowship as a visiting fellow at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Institute of Molecular Biology.
This attachment has benefitted me greatly and I will have much to contribute to my department.
